W reg Mk3 Cav on the A500

Was overtaken by a W reg Cavalier SRi Hatch in Dark Metalic Green today on the A500 in Stoke, must have been in storage and unregistered for a while !

You can only put a private plate on a car of the same year or older. You cant put a newer plate on a car. So it must have been in storage or similar.
Was there not one on ebay a while back and it was questioed as there were no pictures?

Maybe it's one of those frankenstein creations, like it's really a mondeo with cavalier panels?
