Smoke Grey GSi on A614 Sat 15th Oct 2016

I was trundling up the A614 travelling from Manchester towards Filey yesterday.

Followed a Grey GSi for about 15 miles after it overtook me doing a very lively but just about legal speed.

It turned off to the right at a roundabout with a life boat statue thingy on it.

Wife commented on how she like it.

I have never considered GSi much in the past, but Smoke Grey examples do look very smart, and not the least bit dated.

Sorry I couldn't "Flyer it" shifting at that speed.

The reg was J271 RKX.

Looking at the mot history, I presumed it had recently undergone a significant refurb.

My favourite comment on an advisory a few years ago was "19 different shades of silver".

But looking very smart now... and all the same shade.

:)

Always good to see another Cav on the road, especially when it's a nice example.

I never really considered GSis before either, always preferring the facelift or pre-facelift SRi look but they have grown on me allot recently too.

Used to be a nice GSI sat on main road near me until maybe a couple of years ago. Always wondered what happened to it.

I could be wrong, as I never had one, but I am sure that I heard or read somewhere how prone they were to premature rotting.

So maybe it has gone to live in the garage in the sky.
