A good clean and respray should improve it no end.
Looks mainly like lacquer peel.

First Cavalier I've seen in the wild for ages, probably in over a year.
Spotted in the Hastings Tesco Extra car park, 13th Feb 2021.

Looked extremely well used; there were three buckets of cement on the back seats.
Looks like it was once well cared for but now having a hard life. Real shame. :(

Not long for this world, I suspect.

Broken rear lense and missing door mirror.
Yes a real shame.

I have to admit I never see Cavaliers any more.
Only mine parked up, and Troys in a unit covered in dust sheets and car parts. :(

It's always a shame when cars make it this far then get abused. Surely the owner could of got a ten a penny banger to trash?
I think it was last year when I saw 3 Cavs on the road.
When I used to own my white one I always got a double take on route when me and my wife went out in tandem with the green one to a show etc.

To the general public, this is a "ten a penny banger"

I have to agree. Even back in the day, they only gained notoriety for being easy to steal and rag around the local estate by youths with nothing better to do.

Apart from the likes of us, nobody ever gave the Cavalier any real appreciation.

The only good comment being that "my grandad used to have one of those".

I often get it when entering a show, " they're not classic, they're everywhere" to which I reply " when did you last see one?" Agreed in the 90's and early 2000's they were everywhere, but have long since disappeared.

Similarly, it's surprising how fast the vectra b vanished from the roads.

Yes it is, considering it had a seven year production run (1995 to 2002),
Exactly the same as it's predecessors.
Cavalier mk2 1981 to 1988.
Cavalier mk3 1988 to 1995.

But the Vectra-B was not as popular as the Cavaliers.

I think I can see why VLC media player rejected this Ad campaign....

That is a real shame, the bumpers seemed to have earned their money but the bodywork doesn't look dinged for a car this age or mileage, how's that? Mine seems to attract them

It was a looked after car according to mot checker. I'm assuming it was sold last year going by the jump in mileage and the fifteen clean mots it had before?
Sadly, what's left of it looks destined to be a parts donor in the not too distant future :(

I don't understand the throwaway mentality, guess I'm just getting old  . Every car I've had has been my "car for life" until circumstances dictated otherwise.
Hopefully some sentimental old fart, sorry, nostalgic person :) will ask to buy it, I had three people last year asking if I'd sell, so it could happen....

----------------------

On a slightly more serious note.....

….My passenger relies on her blue badge for closer parking.

I know personally  not all disabilities are visible but even I'd question a tatty car with three buckets of cement and a reclined passenger seat sitting in a disabled bay without a blue badge :no

First one I've seen on the road since... well, since the last one I posted up!
Late expression model, spotted again in Hastings on the A21 road near Sainsbury's.
This one is in far better condition however. Unfortunately didn't get the chance to get a better photo.

Indeed - I haven't seen any Cavaliers since Vauxfest 2019.
Except mine and Troys. Both long since SORNed.

I would normally expect it to be a Cavalier or his mum's Corsa, but none of them have that external gauge pod.
There are so many modern 'super mini' type cars that have those... Smart Car, Peugeot 107, Citoen C1, Toyota Aygo or Chevrolet Spark... must be a works vehicle - lol

You were right first time Rob, it's a smart car!

Lizzie is borrowing it from her mother at the moment to save some miles on her Cav.
God awful machine. Has a really dim witted auto box and more wind noise than a mk1 Land Rover!

I spotted this one a couple of days ago, very nice looking Vectra, out of all of these in my city (probably 4 including mine) this one is in the best shape. The wheels though... they don't really suit this car very well.

I was overtaken today on the M60 anti-clockwise near the Oldham (junction 22) turn off.

By an N reg (1995) 1.8 LSi hatchback in polar sea blue.
It was like watching my own car go past without all my tasteless modifications on it.

The first one that I have seen in years, apart from at the car shows.

So nice to see a tidy original looking example.

Sadly I was in the work's Citroen Relay van at the time, so no chance to get a photo.

Although I recognised the front end from a good mile behind me as it caught up, and then went by.

First Cavalier I've seen out in the wild for some time now.
Spotted in Sevenoaks library car park.

Nice late spec GLS hatch in Nautilus Blue with the 16v X20XEV engine.
Could do with some tlc but it was rust free from what I could see. 144,000 miles.

Lizzie and I were walking and both did a double take as it looked like someone had stolen Lizzie's CD!

Nice find - doesn't look too shabby from here.
And I do like that colour.
