2 flyered in 1 car park

Post by James McGrath »

I spotted these two yesterday in Kingstanding Business Park in Tonbridge wells as I was picking up a new car battery for my Cavalier. Luckily I had a bunch of flyers with me!

Nice to see some Cavaliers are still around the Tonbridge Wells area.

First of all a tatty LS;

Tatty, but appeared to be in good nick, hardly any rust other than what you can see on the bonnet.

The second was a slightly modified SRi;

It was in good condition apart from those garish silver windscreen wipers.

That's a very tidy SRi there :shock: :thumb

not a massive fan of the wheels on the SRi. I've suddenly started seeing Cavaliers a lot more. I'll print some flyers at the weekend :thumb

I've seen worse alloy wheels.
I know what you mean though, I think the original SRi alloys look fantastic and why anyone would want to replace them is beyond me.
But really it's the side indicators and the silver windscreen wipers I don't like.

Finally managed to flyer this lovely SRi on Thursday.

It can normally be found in the Aviamax car park in Robertsbridge, it obviously belongs to one of the staff.

Managed to flyer a couple of the regulars I see most days when I’m up in Canterbury. Both of which are L reg funnily enough.

First of all an LS that's in bad need of a good clean and polish but otherwise virtually rust free.

The second is what I first thought was a pre-facelift CD (don't ask why) from the back but actually quite a nice GLS

Ouch, that looks nasty. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is a write off.

Is it true that hatchback cavaliers were vulnerable to chassis damage if they were rear-ended like that?

Always nice to see a pre-facelift.

It's even nicer when you get to see two.

I saw these two last Friday when I was getting my clutch cable fixed.

This lovely GL was in Sainsbury’s car park in Hastings

This L is a regular of mine I used to go past it every day on the bus on the way to College. It can usually by found parked along battle road in St Leonard’s.

Strange you should say that because normally the white one is filthy. in fact this is the only time I've ever seen it clean.

But both of them looked in pretty good condition. Less rust on them than my cavalier that’s for sure.

Spotted this one today and left a flyer on it...

Image

Was parked just round the corner from my house in Branksome, Dorset.

Its a Cavalier L with a lil bit of the dreaded rust worm round the rear arches but dont look to bad for its age!
Free Parking is a bonus, leaving my Cav in a carbon dust filled carpark is not.....

Last two digits, of a three digit plate, locate where the car was registered.
'G' was for 'Garden of England' (Kent and Sussex) and the following letters indicate they were registered at Maidstone: A B C D E F G H J K L M N O
The following letters indicate they were registered at Brighton: P R S T U V W X Y.

So with 'J817 DGH' this means it was registered in Kent and at the Maidstone DVLA office.

HTH :D

Dave

ps. Mike that white one was reg in Reading! :D
