Optimum offset for a Cavalier with 8x18-inch rims

If I run 8x18-inch wheels on my Cavalier, should I stick to as close to ET49 offset as I can get? ET45 seems to be the nearest option on the rims that I'm considering.

Et45 will be perfect tbh , will be enough to keep away from the struts without fouling the arches. et45 is only 4mm out and easily within the recommended window.

Cheers Dave. What tyre profile would you recommend? The car will have a 30mm ride height drop on Eibach springs to begin with.

Anyone? I think the best choice is likely to be 215/35/18s...

James Kennedy who still has his old project thread for a Cav Turbo ran 18's on his Turbo Loon and tbh there was very little clearance and he told me it was an absolute pig to drive, believe pics are still on his project thread:
