After some advice

Post by jb1kenoby »

Basically it been a very long time since I dealt with offsets and pcd stuff etc but I have found a nice set of rare wheels and at the moment they are cheap so my question is

The offset is all wrong on the wheels I want as well as the stud set up

These are that they have

All wheels are 8.5J x 18 ET13.
Centre bore size is 72.6mm,
so good for all 5 stud pattern BMWs apart from E39.

Now before anyone says yes I know 5 x 120 won't fit but my main question is if the offset is et13 is it just a case of using a spacer to bring them out to about et35 as if so I may try and find some hub centric spacers that also convert the stud patterns :)

You won't get them on a standard cav too wide and offset is too low spacers will make it worse

as stated above 13 is for a rwd offset and a wicked one at that.
spacers will make that worse not better.
i think i am watching those wheels as well, but they wont fit my car either! nice though.

regardless that the pcd is wrong and you would need to perform and engineering miracle to get them on safely etc, you would need a E46/36 fitting set for a cav, and 8 by 18 would still be a bit of a squeeze.
non M3 e46 bmws are et47 and 50, so basically spot on for a fwd vauxhall. I have just gone through all this with my Monaro (et48) made tiny spigot rings for it and have fitted clubsport 330ci rims. i will show you/talk you through it tomorrow night if you like.

Ive seen a fitting kit for a saab which is the same

Oh and 8x18s would be easy on a cav (well mine anyway) ive got 8x17 on et39 at the moment its the tyres that are the issue
