Alloy Wheel Cover Removal

Post by Diplocav1 »

Hello,

The wheel nut cover (aka centre cap) key broke on my Diplomat fanblade alloys. I had already taken the covers off the other 3 alloys, and this was the last one! Does anyone know a way of removing the nut from the centre cover without the key, as the wheel cover is in too nice condition to damage? Many thanks, Anthony

A small flat tipped punch, in one of the notches to tap it around and start it moving, then long nose plier tips to continue. If it is tight on the threads and the pliers are struggling then continue with the punch, alternating one side to the other.
