Hmmn will I have problems fitting 18s with this setup...

Post by humbucker »

I've got a set of wheels, 17s ET49, but I'm actually thinking about trading them in for the same wheels in a bigger size. The ones I'm after are 18s, but they come as ET38, 8J.

Firstly, lets see pics of your 18s. Secondly, with a 40mm drop what problems will I have on ET38 (I was running ET37 a while back and that wasn't too bad), but probably more importantly what issue am I gonna have with 8J width? Too wide? I hope not but let's hear from those of you who have tried similar sizes.

Hmmn expensive mistake to make tho eh, bit late to change my mind after I've bought 'em... I guess it's the ride height that's the issue combined with the offset then, if I was on standard ride height I'd probably get away with it...

reading through this i'm surprised 18's fit a cav at all I'm running 205/40/r17 and i don't think i would be able to fit 18's on. humbucker has seen how close my wheels are unfortunately i don't know what drop my cav is as it's running -40mm mk3 astra springs so with the added weight of a cav they are lower.

The biggest thing is offset. Wrong offset and 17"s. will only just fit or not at all
