cavalirt turbo c20let blue smoke

Hey guys not been on here awhile...just bought a cav turbo and theres blue smoke on the overrun..no smoke when its cold or at idle just when u have been accelarating and then coming to a stop theres blue smoke...could this be turbo seals or stem seals??? Any help would be great cheers

Could be turbo seals, stem seals or even blocked breather pipes. Do the breather mod on the rocker cover too. Also make sure the one way valve is there and working and the right way round.

shouldn't be stem seals as it doesn't smoke in the morning

Id say breathers first
then a compression test just to rule out the rings
Then its probably the turbo

thanks chaps... i prey its not the piston rings might seem a silly question but how do i check the breathers, do i just check the pipe coming out of the rocker cover for a blockage???

First of all make sure all these are on exactly the same as this diagram:



Especially the one with the one way valve in.


Then check/clean this pipe along with the silicone bit that goes to the rocker cover:


I'd then take the rocker cover off, clean it all and do the breather mod like this:

Then see what its like.

Cheers dan... the car is now smoking all the time..took the intercooler pipes off and there full of fresh oil..so ive ordered a rebuild kit..il do that breather mod aswell
