crank sensor

Post by saucy_begger »

my cav has been running fine since I got it back from garage and idle was best its ever been but lumpy still without car shaking so result!

she still ran rich and had hard starting for couple minutes from hot and the garage said they all do it cos vapour lock but I know it never use to do it when I got the car. I changed to coolant temp sensor ages ago so ruled that out but everything pointed to the car cant tell temperature. I realised I bought a aftermarket one so went to Vauxhall yesterday n bought a bosch one and fitted it. took the car out and shes quicker and mpg has basically doubled and no more hard starting. thing is now its giving the right fuel mix its idle is bad again and miss firing and shes shaking again at idle. its not smooth on acceleration iver. its as tho the over fueling was masking a problem. everything looks good all vacuum lines, pulled maf sensor n it bogged down so guess that's working. cap is new leads are good and spark seems to be fine. its like the timing is going out intermittently. could the crank sensor be faulty. as I recall I had a few times where my car would crank but not catch a year or so ago with eml light coming on but pumping gas and cranking for a wile got it going with a struggle all times. never did find out why or what it was.

How many sensors on the c18nz. I want my timing sensors changed so I'm off to the garage tomor cos I'm off this week. I've iver got a cam sensor or crankshaft sensor or both but I don't know. Been checkin the engine out top to bottom and I can only see one wire from the cam area. If it's just one great but think its 2.

Crank only, no cam sensor
"No the temperature gauge doesn't work........
we've driven 150 miles today........
the heater went cold last Thursday........
they check the level when it's serviced don't they?"
