Flashing s still here

Hello guys I have re greased my selector switch but I'm still experiencing the flashing s, before I re greased it I would switch off and on the ignition and the fault would clear but now even after switching off an on the flashing a carries on flashing what else could this be it's not till the car is shut for a good 10-20 minutes that the fault clear but soon as I drive off 5 minutes later the flashing s appears I have re greased so what else could it be thanks

Not sure why you're making yet another post about the issue, but have you checked the relevant fuses? And do your reverse lights work?

Fuses are all ok I replaced the 10amp fuse that was blown and reverse lights won't working still experiencing same issue,

The reverse lights are working when I replaced the fuse but still gettin the flashing S

Are you talking about reversing lights or a light on your dashboard ?

The flashing transmission fault light on the dash. Same as the Sport mode light. I miss my automatic

I had the same problem.I suspect the gearbox
doesn't change gear properly.
I cured it by cleaning the contacts in the switch
with contact spray cleaner. You really don't want any grease
on them.
A new switch was more than the car was worth.

There is contact grease in the switch already, but over time that dries up and goes a yellowy-white colour, which fouls the contact pins as I understand, hence cutting off the signal to the ECU which is why it goes into limp mode.

Mine was fine after I took the selector switch apart and re-greased it, wiping the old stuff away.

Would it still work without the grease or do they need the grease for the contacts to work confused now lol

You want some grease in there but not
on the contacts. Preferably Synthetic.
