If its out of a cav, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about, just remove the old engine, loom and ecu, replace.
Fit the 16v fuel pump and you're ready to go.

if you have an f16 gearbox, you're laughing, if its the f18 box, you might have to swap the flywheel from your c18nz if it'll fit.

Agreed - more or less as Gary has stated.

Swap the ecu and loom.
Fit the MPi fuel pump
Swap the engine.

If it is a 1993 onward C18NZ, then chances are that it will indeed have the pot flywheel and F18 gearbox.

for a general idea, have a look at my How 2, where I swapped a C18NZ for a C20NE.
More or less what you plan to do.

and as Gary (EnvoyCDX) would advise,
You would benefit from converting the rear drum brakes to discs, due to the increase in bhp.
from 90 hp in the NZ to about 150 in the XE.

I'm probably going to be using a f20box. Would I be better off with a f16 cr???
