BPH?? Little plug??

:scratch :scratch does any one wot the standard BPH for a M-Reg 1.8i Cav is ??
Also what is the little plug is that is in the engine bay at the passenger side at the top, it says 95 on 1 side and 91 on the other??

not sure on the bhp but the plug you mention is the RON plug, its to do with which fuel you are using just leave it on 95

Hi mate.
1.8i late-reg blocks have 89 bhp from factory, because of the cat. Earlier 1.8s have a bit more power because of no cat.
The plug, as above mentioned is the RON plug, which lets the engine know which fuel octane rating you're using. As said, 95 is the one to leave it on. the other side is 93. but that was for the fuels back in the day, lower octane.

I can whole heartledy say "ditch the cat!" and I intend to as soon as I can be arsed to find a middle box off a 2litre prefacelift :)

I feel you there. I know mine's an auto, but it has got potential. I've had 118 on the clock out of her but i know with a de-cat i could get a little bit more. If not speed then acceleration. But its there for MOTs i guess. :|

bhp is 90 and if you ditch the cat it will be a little bit noisier, don't throw the cat away as it will needed to be put back on for the MOT

Not if you use the 2 litre silencer that was fitted to pre-facelift 2litre cav's :D :mrgreen:
