91 gsi 4x4 not getting any fuel

Just bought a 91 gsi 4x4 today. I'll start a progress thread when i start it.

It not getting any fuel to the cylinders, just wondering if there is any common problems before i start looking.

i had a similar prob with my gsi

turned out to be a o ring snapped in the fuel pick up in the tank

I had the same problem as well.found it by putting the pipe that goes from the fuel tank to the fuel pump in a petrol can and it ran fine so I knew it was a problem with the fuel sender. Good luck getting the tank back in place. Those tank straps seem to get shorter

if it is the relay then the EML wont light up with the ignition

Sorted lads, cheers for all the replys.

I started by checking the fuse, then put it up on the lift and checked was there power going to the pump. There was power in the wires but the pump didnt seem to be geting it. So i whipped it out and cleaned the manky connections and put it staraight to a battry and it worked fine so i put it back in and it was working but not pumping anything. On the fel gauge in the car it read 1/4 full but a put a tenner in it anyway, after i dropped the tank to replace the perished fuel pipe from the tank to the pump.

So I'm not sure what exactly the problem was now but it starting now anyway.

The fuel pipework is very messy in the engine bay and i think its loosing preasure somewhere. The vacume pipe for the servo has also been cut of by the previous owner so i'l get that sorted first. then get the power steering working.

Sounds like the pick-up pipe was possibly bent up, hence not sucking in any fuel from the bottom of the tank....
