Strange sound from behind dash.....

i remember on my old cavvy before she was sent for reclamation, i did the head gasket and i didnt change the water pump, thought id save meself 20 quid, got it all back together and watya know when its cold and not running it would leak out hence i had to change it, and take the cam belt off again and everything, same with the hyd lifters, my engine recon place said theyll knock for a bit but then free up, 200 miles later after changing the water pump and gasket it hadnt so off came the rocker cover and cam carrier once more and a new head gasket AGAIN and she was puring like a dream

also having the head skimmed gave a marked performance increase
