That's not very helpful Gaz? Have you never heard of a lightened and balanced egr valve?

You won't make an Ecotec go faster, that's the whole point of the Ecotec engines.... They were designed with reduced power, reduced emissions, with more sensors. If you want more power, it has already been suggested, remove the engine and fit a redtop or a V6 lump... There is no other way. Ok, maybe from an engineer's point of view there is but it's all up to your budget/effort.

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

Seriously, pump the tyres up, and make sure it's been well serviced, and throw out all the crap. This is a cheap starting point. The x20xev is not a good base for tuning* and you are wasting money trying to get anything serious from it.
*unless you give it and your pile of money to a specialist.

I'm sure Total Vauxhall did a X20XEV tuning guide a little while ago, concluding that while you have more chance of squeezing power out of a red top etc there are still improvements to be had if you want to keep the x20 lump. I will have a look for it, although I imagine they say the same as everyone one here at the end of the day; get a better base if you're wanting big power.

To be fair to the old ecotec the only reason it got binned for the v6 is 'cos it died. It was plenty quick enough and much better on fuel lol
