Which sump?

Post by Adamw5433 »

I need a new sump for my '94 cav 1.8 8v LSi (Single Point Injection)
I've asked around for a new sump and i can find one but the problem is....

I keep being asked if my sump is without check control
OR
with check control

so does anyone know which one i need, or how i can find out which one i need.
As my cav is pretty much undrivable until i get the sump sorted.

Without check control. LS Cavs never had this as standard, so unless your planning to fit it (unlikely to be fair) - get the one without.. unless the one with is cheaper :D  (it will have a hole in it for the sensor but I'm sure you can find some plumbing tape and the correct sized bolt to put in there ;)

Make sure you get the 8valve RUBBER sump gasket too not the crappy cork one I was almost palmed off with a few years back.

im sure if you get the one with check control it has 5 holes one for the sensor and 4 to bolt it down, so more hassle than its worth
