Hi,
I've owned my Cav for about 15 months now, and im wondering about changing the cambelt. It was changed for me when i bought the car as part of the deal, and the car has done 22,000 miles since. How often is it due a change? I have a haynes manual, but I've lost it when i moved house.
I've done the oil, plugs and filters twice in the time I've had it. Is there anything im missing out?

Officially, 36k for all models with a tensioner and 63k for the older non tensioner models except the Isuzu engines which are 72k. Stick within the 36k to be safe and change the tensioner, rollers and water pump at least every other belt. It's more common to see a roller or pump failure throw the belt on the later engines than it is a plain belt failure.

they check the level when it's serviced don't they?"

Re: Cambelt - How often?
as others have said, no more than 40k irrespective of manufacturers recommendations, esp where the v6 is concerned.
Re: Cambelt - How often?
My routine is -
Change the belt every 32K miles
Change the tensioner and water pump and alternator drive belt every 64K miles,
or when carrying out major mechanical - (head gasket change etc)
