2.0 8v not runing write

hi there my new cavalier when started hiccups and fart's and when i turn the engine of it still runs for a couple of seconds.iv tried the normal plug leads etc i think the timing's out by a tooth must of been changed by previous owner.the cars also smells very strong of petrol when running think its running the wrong mixture our over fulling also hesitating when accelerating .hope sum one can help thank you

thats what i think to i have to get a new belt. how do i get the wright timing mark's. thank you for your advice mate

Which engine is it? C20NE? 20NE or the 20SEH?

C20Ne I'd imagine as long as it aint had an engine transplant.
115BHP as standard, I'll see about getting the details sorted for you.

That will be brilliant mate. thank you for your help. is there any ticks to get more BHP out of this engine am going to try and get a cat replacement pipe made up for it etc

i had the same problem with a fuel smell when my cav was running i suggest checking all the fuel lines for any pin holes and replace them straight away hope this helps

tryd timing belt no joy .tld it cud be sticky valves what ever that mean,s .does that mean new engine if that's the case think i give up hope sum one can help

Yours is doing the same as mine was doing and a change of the air flow meter sorted it, although it did still fail the emissions
