1st from F28 into F25

Post by Squig »

anyone know if the 1st gear from an F28 would fit the F25, replacing the current gear?

i wouldn't bother most f28's are thrashed, especially 1 and 2nd and 3rd.
I thought the ratios were the same for the f20 as the f28

had a chat with a mate shortly before coming on... he also reckons the f28 1st won't fit due to size issues ie the f28 is a narrower box with more gears... essentially the query is what 1st could I replace the naffly short f25 1st with, so would the F20 fit size wise?

F20 ratios;
1st Gear Ratio 3.55:1
2nd Gear Ratio 2.16:1
3rd Gear Ratio 1.48:1
4th Gear Ratio 1.13:1
5th Gear Ratio 0.89:1
Reverse Gear Ratio 3.33:1
Final Drive Ratio 3.55:1

Tbh ive never really touched a box, they are cheap enough to scrap and swap, my f28 repair was farmed out to a local place
As for size its a bigger box than a f20

Its not something im experienced with enough to comment

please... whether I can or not is uncertain but the gearbox derivation would be nice in either case
