Re: gearbox help
Where are you looking for parts? Autovaux is excellent for genuine (and non genuine) parts: http://www.autovaux.co.uk
Genuine part search (sister company to Autovaux) is also excellent, with heavily discounted prices on genuine stock (although you'll need a part number): http://www.genuinepartsearch.co.uk
Give Keiron at Autovaux a call on 01924 376003. Tell him I (Dan) sent you. The company's website doesn't include their stock list, just a few 'special offers'.

Re: gearbox help
Of course, I'm biased, but Performance Vauxhall magazine is only £19.99 per year to have each and every issue of the mag delivered direct to your door. Daft not to at that price.

Re: gearbox help
Hi Davey
I've just rebuilt mine with all gen parts. You'll likely need the little ball joint plastic sockets as a start. I'd first though try aligning the gearstick and gearbox before anything else. Basically there is a little alignment hole in the gearstick under the boot where you put a drill bit or similar, then at gbox end there is a little plug you pull out and put a drill bit in to lock the box in centere. Obiously if they are not aligned then sleection will be a nightmare and then secondly something must have kicked the alignment out, which needs to be identified, either wear or loose clamp/pinch bolt for gear lever rod at bulkhead.
If you need a list of part numbers I should still have them kicking about, if you are a 1.8 late model that is
