Not long time ago i bought 1995 v6 vectra and cars been fine since, eats/leaks oil but otherwise good
Bit under 200k kilometers on clock and pretty much no rust
But the problem:
Last weekend we were cruising, and suddenly while changing gear - 2nd to 3rd, we heard loud "snap" sound and after that cluch pedal did pretty much nothing. After little rolling while we got it to go on 3rd gear and headed home. Gears go in while driving, but cluch is not working. On home we noticed burning cluch smell
Im not sure what wrong with it, but this is how it is now:
-Cluch pedal feels normal but cluch is not releasing properly/at all
-Cable is ok
-Clutch actuator arm moves
-Gears go in when engine is not running, but when engine running it starts to roll / gear wont go in at all / grinds (cluch is not releasing)
-Cluch is not slipping, its just not relasing, tried to adjust cable but no help.
-Gearbox was fine before, and worked still on way home so i think its ok?
Soo, i think its something to do with cluch disk or release bearing?
I have done cluch job once, but it was vectra with 1.8 so there was much more space. Do i need to drop subframe on v6 to change cluch assembly? I have tools and time but no lift other than hydraulic jack.
If and when gearbox is off is there anything else i should replace?
Local repair shop told its about 5 hours of work, and im thinking to le them do it.
