Engine weezing
Hi all, my engine has started weezing around 3500rpm , has anyone else suffered from this or had a similar problem?

It could be the same as I've had recently, but I'd need a few more symptoms to confirm. Does it drive fine through the lower gears, then in 3rd/4th/5th seem to cap out at about 45-50mph, with the engine struggling like it's having trouble breathing? If so, could be your O2 sensor, mine went the way of the dodo and gave me that problem. Is it still running on it's original? (Assuming a petrol model, heh)
Never use another Cav driver as guidance to a destination, unless you REALLY want to explore the country.

Hey Cabletwich no it does it mainly in the lower gears 1,2,3

When you say wheezing, you mean struggling, or making a wheezing noise? If it's struggling after about 3k then might be collapsed cat. Also engine/model/year etc?

I am sure it is the V6 in his other main thread.
Wheezing is an odd term to use.
Wheezing infers to me drawing in air or a strangled exhaust.
So the obvious thing is - check your exhaust for collapsed catalytic converter or dislodged baffle plates in the back box.
And - check all induction, breather and vacuum pipes for condition and fit.

Sorry, yes it's the v6 it's a weezing whining noise but after the engine warms up its not as loud,

Hmm - heat related.
That could be so many things.
But pushes my thoughts away from the exhaust and induction, as any splits or cracks usually open up when the engine or manifolds or exhaust heat up.
Now then -
Drive belts being loose and slipping slifhtly on the alternator or air con.
Dried bearings on the alternator or heater blower fan.
I think it is time to get your head under the bonnet and listen to where the sound "seems" to be coming from.
Although even this is not as simple as it sounds as noises resonate, bounce around or project themselves around the engine bay or the car.
Turn off your heater, air con if you have it and all electrical loads
Alternators whine when under load,
motor bearings whine...
a trapped leaf in an air duct.
Air duct only half open on the dash.
You name it....
That could be so many things.
