Which cam belt fits my car?

Post by dorsetdave »

I have a 1993 2.0 8v auto saloon and it shows on the original dealer vehicle application to DVLA the engine number:-
31103076. The engine type is C20NE.

I have looked on line and this number does not seem to tie in with any supplier's engine numbers for a cam belt or kit.

It appears to have been printed on the V55/1, presumably by Vauxhall so I guess it's correct.

Can anyone tell me the correct cam belt/ tensioner/ water pump kit for the car and, even better, suggest a supplier.

The car has only 46k miles on it and I have the history from day one so I know that it's on the original engine.

Thanks for looking.

Not sure I can help but I replaced my 1990 CDi 2.0 8 valve belt and water pump and it sounded really not right.
Mucked about with belt tension (via water pump, no separate pulley) and noticed rubber powder being generated!
Turns out my pullies are for a rounded tooth belt and I had got hold of a square tooth pulley water pump, supplier came good with the correct pump and another belt.
Not sure where the changeover occurs, but worth bearing in mind and ensure parts are of the correct profile.

If you want genuine parts, then you could try AutoVaux / Genuine Parts Search.

Not as cheap as generic Ebay sellers.
Part numbers are -
90444123 - GM water pump at £52.20
(They do an OE equivalent at £27.44 reduced from £33.34)
and
93188131 - GM timing belt kit with tensioner at £47.10.
That includes vat but not postage.
