Cooling fan

Post by Nova_Tek »

2 Questions:

Firstly, anyone used an aftermarket slim fan on their Cav in place of the standard fan? Would you rate it better than the original?

Secondly, the fan on the 2.0 Ecotec has 2 connectors one of which has a white block with a spring on it. Is there any reason there is a spring/coil on it, does it serve a purpose?

I can't find the original fan after I dismantled the front end so looking to replace it, just researching what's best

I think you will find the spring is actually a resistor and would be used when the fan is in 'slow' mode
Think I would find an original one!

Thanks for the reply,

I see... I wasn't aware they had a slow mode. It didn't look like it was in very good condition as the block was in half :?
