New clutch cable catching

Post by Joner1983 »

Fitted a new clutch cable the other day after mine snapped about 4 miles from my house  but the metal rod on the gearbox end of the cable seems to catch on the black plastic hole that the cable passes through when the clutch is pressed and pulls the rubber grommet off on the way out:

Any ideas how I can stop this?

If it is catching on the bore of the body, then see if the cable is routed at the correct angle over the gearbox and behind the engine.

I would also be tempted to push the rubber grommet thing off the rod, so that it sits over the cable and not the rod.
