ive just had to invest in a new one from LMF, cos my revs kept dropping and the engine cut out. after cleaning it twice, the problem was still there. Have you changed the HT leads as well cos when my Cav had no [power it was down to these and the sensors (which youve changed). just a couple of ideas

sounds to me like the throttle body is blocked partially not allowing the iac valve to work correctly,
remove throttle body and clean with carb cleaner/petrol or even thinners, until spotles also do same to iac valve again,
then follow the smallhose of the top of the cam cover back to the inlet manifold clean pipe through, youll also need to clean the end at the inlet manifold this is quite tricky as the hole is so small but it needs to be done and clear, repeat this at he cam cover end
refit all parts using new gaskets,
start it up and try it, should be ok have done this to loads of cars that i service n look after works 99% of the time

could be the EGR valve, common fault on the ecotecs

1. breather system
2. ICV
3. cam cover gasket; check that it's not leaking oil into your spark plug wells, if it is it will certainly cause running problems
4. plugs and leads - have you perchance removed the leads and replaced them in the wrong order?
No sign of an EM light while all this is going on then?
