Cheapest place for a 1.8 rad?

Post by tattoodevil »

Just found a hole in my radiator. Chucked a bottle of rad-seal in but would rather replace it. Is it a simple job? Where's the cheapest place to get a new rad?

Erm... without sounding like a bit of a cock, if people added their general location we could answer better.... but generally speaking scrapyards and ebay (link to the cheapest I could find quickly...), although Gaz knows of a place that repairs rads and heater matrices, so there maybe a place near you that offers the same services which could be cheaper.

However with some rads at prices over £50 an alloy item may workout only a little more...Pro Alloy Ltd offer these services, again as the first I found I cannot vouch for any work...

oh and yes it's easy to change just make sure you renew the fluids with the correct antifreeze mix.

Id just go scrapyard or get yourself a valeo rad from a motorfactors (same as gm) , getting the re-cored is cheaper than replacing but unless cash is really tight id just get a new one.
