Be aware that most 20NE ecu's that you are likely to find are going to be C20NE and looking for an o2 sensor and tank vent valve, I don't recalll the SEH having them, unless someone remembers better. Could use the complete injection system from one though as the guts of the engine are much the same

they check the level when it's serviced don't they?"

It's going into an L reg that currently has a 1.8 spi in, so could I use the o2 sensor from that?

SEH had higher comp. and a mild cam.

Never fitted with Cat and therefore associated gubbins.

I'd have thought most of the difference in the management was in the slightly higher rev limit.....

You'll not get the same "umph" from it as they are setup differently assuming the ECU will fit the loom (c20ne had both 2 and 3 row plugs from memory)

Best off getting an SEH ECU (your not restricted to mk3 cav's either, Carltons and MK2 cavaliers and MK2 astras also came with the SEH I beleive

I vaguely remember that they will run on both ecu's, but the C20NE will wind up running in limp mode because it wants an o2 sensor signal. If it were mine I'd be searching for the right ecu, which will be optimised for the engine. Senseless having that little bit extra that the SEH has, and then strangling it with NE mapping for the sake of an ecu.

Very true, but if you want to, you can ground out the o2 plug sense and it should ommit that issue (Andy K or Mark T of VXoN covered this :) )

Do the 20SEH not have a purge valve?

My 30E does, and that runs Jetronic.

Tank vent valve? that ickly little black thing on the back of the engine - don't know really
What's a purge valve then?

Then yeah, the SEH in the MK3 will most likely have some form of it.

you'll need a mpi fuel pump. a 16v pump will do.
