Not sure why I am posting this...
It is nothing to do with cars, let alone Cavaliers.

I am not a musical person... except after a pub lunch with lots of veg and onion gravy..

And I have not been to a concert for at least 15 years.
Last 'proper' gig being the U2 Pop Mart tour at Roundhay Park, Leeds many moons ago. (Apparently 1997).

Anyway last night the missus dragged me out to a concert..
Meatloaf tribute band thing in Stockport.
I say dragged even though technically I drove us both there and back.



Stranger still to be in an auditorium with 1400 people without a face mask or covering in sight.



As concerts go it was very well done for a tribute band.
But I could not get my head around the back-drop saying MAET LIVE, not Meat....

And towards the end of the first half, the singer removed his wig and turned into "Buster Bloodvessel".





Despite the timing - there was only a silent nod to the man himself in front of the stage



As with all public events, my wife insisted on asking me about the powered wheelchair in front of us.
I am sure she forgets that I like to forget about wheelchairs on my day off.

As you say, good to get out!

I presume it is a copyright thing, but it just looked so wrong.
My head cannot cope with odd spelling or grammar, even if done intentionally.

The lack of face coverings seemed odd - I cannot say it freaked me out. It just went against my working habits / protocols over the past 20 months.

Much as I like meatloaf (prefer jim steinman), he was about the only concerts we had to walk out if in the early 80's. Couldn't sing, had to stop for breathers all the time and backing signers filled in. Then not sure if it was staged or not, had screaming rants with others on stage, wasn't fun to watch.

I find a lot of "big" artists are not as good in real life.
I see a lot of american singers (especially female) who rely a lot on backing singers to drown out their bum-notes, or they fill in the gaps when the artist simply decides that they can't be bothered to sing some of the lines.

I know that I cannot sing, so I know not to bother.

As for Mr Meat...
The wife saw him several years ago at the Manchester Indoor Arena. She didn't shut up for days about how good the concert was.
Maybe you caught him on a bad day.
We all have those.
It is a shame that it spoilt your night out though.

I have only walked out of one concert early - Alexander O'Neal at the G-Mex as it was called in the late 80's.
I got bored half-way through, and went home in disgust.

Saying that - I wasn't too enamoured by Robbie William's at the Etihad arena a few years ago.
A bit repetitive in patches.
Almost embarrassed to say that the high-light was Rick Astley doing a cameo appearance.
Erasure in support were quite alright too.
Sorry Robbie....

As I heard from meatloaf in later interviews, he admitted that he was in a bad place in the 80's with drink and drugs.
