Re: 4 pot calipers
Show brakes. Hi Spec are known for terrible customer service and inferior quality products. Think about it: serious motorsport professionals use either Brembo, Alcon or AP Racing for a reason. If you just want something that looks good, then go for it. If you want some serious stopping power, then go for calipers made by one of the 'big three'. My next MV6 update might be of interest to you...
Re: 4 pot calipers
set of brembos on conversion brackets and a disk to suit, cost you a grand for that setup.
but why 4 pots...... whats wrong with 308s and some nice disks and pad.
If you track the car alot then id say yes but for a road car its a bit ott.

Basically, instead of spending a fortune on show brakes, I looked at OEM Brembo, Alcon and AP Racing kits as fitted to premium European sports cars, and then worked out which ones I could fit to my MV6. I've ended up with a monster brake kit that has cost me much less than I would have spent if going down the 'off the shelf' route. Details to follow...

Re: 4 pot calipers
Again is it really neccessary spending 1500 quid for a set of brakes.
Brakes and engine so far 3000.
On a race car yes on a road car your nuts!
You could build a monster cavalier turbo which comes with a stronger body.

Re: 4 pot calipers
I agree with Troy, if your spending that much, get a proper cavalier turbo, it dosnt matter what you do to the SRI, it will still be a sri with turbo lump, ive been down that route so I should know, cav turbos are only ever going to go up in price the rarer they get, and they are without doubt the best model of cavalier by far, and ive had all kinds of cav, Ads

Re: 4 pot calipers
I want a top spec sri turbo its my vision and dream I will never sell my sri just pass in onto my lad everyone forgets that the sri is a rare car now and is going up in value I do like cav turbo's but I want an sri turbo even more after seeing Terry's cav too.
At end of day its preference and down to what I like and want on my car I do thank you all for giving me advice I'm building this for me and my lad I've all ways liked sri cavaliers after my dad took me out in one when I was younger.
So its sentimental for me too and for me and my lad to do the same thing I just want advice on the caliper's so I make a good choice and gain from your exsperince of what works and don't work cheers Joe.

Re: 4 pot calipers
You might want to get the current issue of Performance Vauxhall - not only is there a double page feature on my MV6 brake kit, but there is also a full feature on Kirk McSporran's Mk3 Cavalier SRi Turbo.
