lol I'm not trying to make it into a 4x4  Just want to raise it a touch and fit larger tires. Is it that hard to understand?

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

The point is Andrei, if you put higher profile tyres on it, of a height big enough to make any difference, when you go round corners it will feel like you have loosened all the suspension bolts. A small increase won't be dangerous, but will not achieve what you are looking for, and therefore is a pointless exercise.

Rigid frame to a ladder chassis? Nah, not my thing. If I wanted a defender 110, I'd have one. If I could afford one. For now, I'll stick with my trusty Cavaliers. ;)

Can he build that with a 13mm spanner and a pair of pliers?

But as for me, I prefer practicality instead of performance. I want it to sit nice and high because, as I mentioned, easier maintenance/underside inspections, and I do enjoy a bit of occasional off-roading. I'm never going to drive like Schumacher around corners, so I don't need performance from it. Around town and the occasional eco cruise, that's my usual driving style. Plus, I love fording deep water when I come to it. :D And yes, I really ought to buy a Land Rover, but considering how good the Cavalier is as an all-rounder, it will do just nicely. Besides, I've been thinking of getting me a trailer for moving stuff around when needed, so a cheap suspension upgrade only seems practical. :) And besides, spring assisters can be taken off or fitted on in minutes, so it's not a permanent feature :p And we all know that a higher ride height and larger tires give a much more comfortable ride. With my back playing up every now and then, I do love a bit of comfy cruising. Now do you guys get it? :D

well after reading above bit couple of time tbh you be better with fronteria imhpn as cavaliers ant good for off roading at all or fording why not buy a cheap frontier they cheap the now and it would give you all you need for the above and fitt towbar to it and keep cavalier for normal driveing and you can get cheap 2,5td 1 as well and crawl under neath to work on it had couple over years and thats about only good thing about them and i know few folk that use them up near me for off roading mad men yes but everyone has a hobby :cool

good luck

How can I get stuck? I'm not exactly going to attend a green laning course, although I'd love to :D Don't think I've ever got stuck on tarmac either :D I did get stuck in a ditch once, but that was because one tyre was on ice, the other was half sunk in mud and water :D If I kept the speed up though, I'd have cleared it easy.
