Well its not goin anywhere right now but i get the feeling its been like that for a looooooooong time.

Surely no fluid goes into the servo? its just air isn't it? So will it not be the master cylinder thats leaking and then goin into that?

The seal between the servo and the master cylinder is probably leaking .No there should be no fluid in there at all .Check the vacum pipe to see
if the there fluid there but to be safe replace the brake servo and master cylinder

Master cylinder leaks and fills the servo Dan. Not common but I have seen a few like this. New servo and master cylinder required.

Yep.... worst bit is the part where you have to guess if you have the allen key socket in the head of the bolts or not because you can't see them, and if it's not in properly you round the buggers. One of the worst ideas vauxhall ever had.

its a prity easy job, take the scuttle panel plastic off and then there will be two rubber grommits to remove, get an allan key bit down there with a small extention and tak them out, take the clip off the pin on the brake pedal and the pipes off the master cyl then your off? never had a problems doing this on any of my old cavs, two allan head bolts and a clip, cant be that hard dan ;)

In fairness yes, it's just nuts and bolts and for someone that is capable of an engine transplant it's going to be a piece of cake. Just watch the allen key socket is a good tight fit because they are a bitch if you get any slippage.

Much easier if you remove the bonnet - then you can see the bolts and have room to remove/replace parts.

Yeah like you say it can't be that hard. Are they the same on all Cavs?

Just done abit of googling and apparently the master cylinders on a turbo/v6 have slightly bigger pistons in side. So looks like i need the bigger one.
