V6 wheel hub

Post by Cavalier342 »

Is that the right bit that I need? Need to replace my front nearside wheel hub, that looks like it's got everything in it, but doesn't say whether it's front or rear.

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

You might find It more cost effective to buy a second hand leg complete Andrei, then you won't have to pay someone to press the bearing in either.

Leg being the strut? I can't even find any V6 cavaliers or calibras breaking at the moment....

Yes, leg being strut. If you are changing the hub then you have to press out the old one. When you do this the outer bearing race stays on the hub and is destroyed on removal. You then press the rest of the bearing from the leg, press the new one in, and press the hub into the bearing. If the hub needed replacement it was daft pressing it into a new bearing really because when you fit a hub you will need another new bearing and pay someone to do the job all over again.

Right. I'll keep an eye out then. But yes he did say to me that it'll need another bearing when the new hub is fitted. Cheers.
