Suspension Leg Squeek !

Post by fontayne56 »

Hi all

I have just put a refurbished leg on my Cavalier and I have noticed a little squeak now as I'm going along the road. I think the noise is coming from where the rubber on the very top of the suspension leg contact the top of the bodywork.

Should this have a little lube in there ??

Many Thanks
Ryan

Do you have a strut brace fitted? I know sometimes they rub against the strut brace and squeak. I have never put any lube around there but i cant see it doing any harm.

A bit of rubber lube shouldn't hurt - however it might be worth looking into just for piece of mind anyhow. The last thing you want is the paint being worn through in the top of the turrets.
