I have checked brake vacuum pipe and it looks ok.There is a bit of oil arond the brake vacuum pipe, where it goes into alternator which must be coming from the oil feed pipe that goes into the alternator.Could this be causing the brakes to be not that effective.

What alternators did they use when they first made the Cavalier 1.7TD GLS?
What is the best alternator, apart from Bosch (£175 for a recon Bosch) to get for my Cavalier 1.7TD GLS?
