Looking for a complete set of standard springs for my CD manual.

Bilstein B3 springs seem to be fairly well regarded. Only thing is when I look for ones for the CD (C20NE) two types of front springs are available.

Model number 130412 - which are quite a bit cheaper
and
Model number 130443 - which are marked up as "Heavy duty version"

Does anyone know if there is much of a difference between the two?

I would base it on how you want the car to feel.
I am sure the heavy duty springs will give a stiffer harsher ride compared to standards.

Possibly useful where a heavy diesel engine is fitted, you regularly carry heavy loads or you are towing a caravan.

Some people would use heavy duty springs to give a firmer more "planted" feel on the road.

If you are looking for the standard slightly soft Cavalier ride, stick with standard springs.

I have 40mm lowered Spax springs and B4 dampers fitted on my Cav.
A much firmer ride compared to the sloppy-sandal wallowy ride that I used to have.
It took a while to get used to the more pronounced pot-hole induced jarring, but the car feels more confident on the road.

I've gone for standard Bilstein B3 springs and B4 shocks all round.
I'll also get new front top mounts fitted and any ARB bushes left over from the Diplomat's suspension renewal.

Sadly I am not a suspension expert, but glad to offer my own personal experiences.

Heavy duty may also be down to auto / manual too. Auto box is substantially heavier than the manual box.. Just my 2p worth.
