clatter on generally uneven roads

Post by tullyarn »

Hi all,
got a possible problem with my N reg expression- now its getting warmer and it is windows down weather i have noticed whenever i go over a minor bump in the road, a resounding metal on metal clatter- similar to the sound made by the gear linkage when engaging reverse- any idea's on this would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Tullyarn

top mount possibly, or lower arm, easiest way is to securely (its important) jack it up and grab stuff in the wheel arch and wobble it hard till you can repeat it or feel movement.

Its really that simple.

check the shock securing nut at the top of the cartridge too... esp if the car has suspension replaced/upgraded.

just buy a kit it works out cheaper than buying individual springs in the long run.
