Cav saloon lowering ????

Post by jimbob jnr »

Just got a 40mm drop suspension kit for my sri saloon, does anyone know do cav saloons sit higher at the back end ?? As you look at the car standard it seems nose down, is this more likely to be worn suspension ? The thing is i don't really want to put the kit on and it still be nose down as it is not really the look i'm after.

On my Cav I have Eibach lowering springs and I would say it dosnt sit nose down. Heres a pic, but not the best because its not taken fully side on.

That's a nice motor you've got there, i think it is probably more likely failing front sus, it is quite crashy over the bumps, i'll just renew all components when i rebuild. Is that a 40mm drop you've done ?

sorry for hijack - Grieg whats with 5 stud front and 4 stud rear, brake upgrade? guessing theres no plans to do the rears due to sourcing same wheels just different stud patterns

Thanks mate, Ive put a lot of work in to that car. I think its a 40mm drop on the Eibach springs . I did have a gmax kit on but there stuff didnt last 2 years, cheap and nasty.

I had a wheel bearing go faulty on the front. So I started to go 5 stud earlyer than I had planed (see my work in progress for full storie). Ive got all the bits to finnish it off. Just not had the time to get it all done. The car has been like that for a number of weeks. Most people dont notice the diffrent wheels front and back, well spoted by you ;)

my cav is on a 40mm drop on eibach springs. the rear end does sit a bit higher since i replaced the rear shocks. this is probably because all 4 shocks were on their way out. front ones need replacing too. it's not a massive difference but when i replace the fronts i'm sure it will level out.

That was deffo my thought process, i'm pretty sure it's a suspension failure and should level off when new springs and shocks are on. I'll go for it it'll be fine, i'm probably looking for excuses not to do it coz it's cold !

You all say arse is higher. In our car c20ne ıt seems front ıs hıgher .The gt ıs sleeker and lover neither front nor rear is higher

It s common here 2.0 c20ne cars' front are hıgher .I want to get ridof this problem by installing 40 mm springs

i know some people hit the backend with 60mm and the front with 40mm. the only way to know is to replace a full set at the same time i guess.

did you get that pic in the end? be interested to see it
