How low can you go?

Post by Pimpvehicle »

As title really, i know lowering springs/shortned dampers and coilovers are all avaialble but how low can a Cav go on 1 a standard interior, 2 a standard interior with people and 3 a stripped interior...

Id be more interested in the stripped interior because i always strip my cars interior... Iv seen kits on Euro performance that do 30/35/40 and 60 :D But would this be stupid? On 17s running either 205 40 or 215 40.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

i am running -60 springs atm standard rear shocks & aftermarket gsi front shocks, standard 15" expression alloys with 195/60/15s rear & 195/50/15s front ( nose down stance), i get no scrubbage probs & i could run 17s but tyres no wider than 205 or the rear tyres will foul the arches. hope this helps ;)

I was running my gls hatch on -40 astra springs with 215\40\16 brock b3's and kyb rear shocks and knackered standard front shocks and that needed the rear arches to have the lip folded slightly but I had no scrub probs untilly the car was loaded with the missus and the 2 kids. And even then it was only at speed when there was a dip in the road. Im now running the same drop and shocks just new ones at front with the 5 spoke calibra/vectra/tigra alloys 195/40/15 and they have no probs I wouldn't mind going for 5 stud conversion and vectra vxr 19 inch snowflakes but with the kids I haven't got the money for the wheels

Im currently running 215/45/17's on vectra gsi wheels.
On the front and it scrubs with no front arch lips (and no liners) on the corners the backs should clear once i roll the arches but 19's def wont fit with no scrubbing.
I wanted some merc 19's but with the offset and the tyres i really doubt your going to get 19's under without some flaring of the arches.

I still have no idea how to roll an arch. I get that it makes the arch sort of bubble so that bigger wheels can fit but itemness know how its done

rolling an arch means basically flattening the lip so its flush with the outer arch

flaring is when you make it wider.

to roll it you just really need to knock it flat, but it will crack the paint so you will need to get it painted afterwards

Sorry im being blonde lol
When u say about knocking the lip flat is that inwards so its folded up into the arch or down so it continues the line of the arch infront of the wheel?
