Rear beam - to poly bush, or not to poly bush....

Well as you may have seen in my WIP - I'm part way through prepping my rear beam for some serious TLC (read: Sandblasting, treating and painting - possibly powder coating - still not 100% sure on that yet)

Anyhow, as I'm going to have to push out the bushes, I'm now juggling the idea of poly bushing the rear beam as I have a couple of arb Powerflex bushes and have priced up the rear beam main bushes @ £47, roughly double what a pair of aftermarket standard rubber bushes will cost..

So, does anyone have any experience with the poly bushes, and if so - what are your thoughts?

Cheers.

The ones I fitted on the Capri where easier to fit, unless you drive it hard I wouldn't think that they make a very big difference to it though.

I have never fitted them, but feedback that I have heard is that under normal driving, the suspension will feel quite firm and stiffer, which is a bonus.

Under firmer driving, then poly-bushes can give a harsher less forgiving ride.

Poly-Prop bushes will not absorb the vibrations as much as rubber bushes .

So it is down to personal preference... less wallowy ride, but slightly harsher choppy ride.
