Ambient air temperature sensor replacement

Post by Telegram Sam »

I was hoping that my Haynes manual would tell me how to go about the above. Unfortunately the very last page(s) is missing which would include s for sensor. The last page in my book is Index Ref * 26 "Pedals". Could someone scan me what is missing? [If all else fails I have an old telefax machine]. Or tell me how to go about this what people tell me is a routine replacement job [N-reg '95 LSi petrol hatch] Tks

If you look at your other thread, you will see that both Chrisp and myself said that it is clipped into the front bumper.
It is about 6 inches forward of the wheel arch on the left side. On the underside of the bumper skin.

You will see three plastic tangs in a curved-triangular formation.

From under the bumper, squeeze at least one tang in towards the centre round probe, and push upwards.

The sensor should pop upwards into the bumper cavity.

Simply unplug the connector from the old sensor,
Connect up the new sensor and finally
Push the new sensor downwards into the hole in the bumper skin.

Simples.

Quite a number of Google definitions of tang to choose from (depending on the circs /air temperature). :D
