Cavalier steering wheel puller

Post by humbucker »

Anyone used a steering wheel puller on an airbag equipped Cavalier? If so, do you have a link to the tool in question? Draper do one for the Vauxhall/Opel range, and it says it will work on 'some' cars with airbags, but it doesn't stipulate which...

The ones we had in the dealers were Kent Moore, and there was only one and it fitted everything up until I moved on in Jan 2002. Maybe search out the Kent Moore part no?

I used the same tool on both my air bag and non air bag cav... Is there meant to be a difference :/
I had to put a socket on the coloumn on the air bag model.

I did that on the Omega, no problem. So we adopted the same approach when fitting a new steering wheel to Rage's GLS. The wheel almost broke his nose!

Seat back, arms straight, rock the shoulders. It only hits you in the face if you bend your elbows. It's physically impossible to hit yourself in the chops without bending your elbow....try it and post a video?

How can it possibly hit you in the face if you leave the nut on a few turns???
Saying that... First time I used the puller... Got the wheel off fine, then hit myself getting the puller arm out the wheel... D'oh!!!

One of the tips on my puller actually snapped off at one point due to pulling many stuck wheels off and it finally gave up. So i welding a massive blob on the end and ground it back into the original shape again and its been fine ever since.

As a result of severe head injuries resulting from steering wheel removal without a puller

It was classic though hahaha! ;)
