just to be clear about what im on about when i say bonnet lifters i dont mean the struts for holding up the bonnet i want the bonnet to be raised at the back when closed. sorry if i wasnt clear on my post!!
Re: bonnet lifters for cav
ahh bonnet lifting blocks, ive seen them on ebay in the past.
But you may as well just use some longer m8 bolts and some washers? its just going to be a block of alloy with 2 holes drilled into it.

Use anything that can be made to achieve the height you want,
I would probably use blocks of ABS plastic or similar,
Packing washers are the cheapest and simplest solution, with an ability to adjust simply by adding / removing some of the washers.

Re: bonnet lifters for cav
I believe that almost every car uses m6 bolts for the bonnet, in my previous cars i just worked out the length off the thread that goes into the bonnet and got longer ones by the desired amount. I raised my ZS an inch but it does really look like your bonnet it broken but it has been proven to reduce under bonnet temperatures. To be totally honest I don't know if it will work on the Cav due to the vents working of the duct behind the engine...
But no, when i raised the ZS's bonnet the catch didnt need adjusting and worked fine, just make sure you drop it harder to make sure it shuts.
Just get some longer bolts and washers job sorted, but if you want a neat and tidy job search ebay as they sell solid cylinders or blocks that fit most cars. Theres an awful lot of them for Saxos which i believe use m6 bolts aswel so get some of the Saxo ones if you cant find any Cavalier ones.

Also remove the weather strip if the cav has one.
