removing the boot lock
hey guys, im thinking of taking the boot lock away when i get round to doing the bodywork on the cavy, but dont know how i would be able to open the boot if i did
would i be able to open it with a cable like in other cars?
how would i go about fitting it?

Re: removing the boot lock
put a solenoid in from a ford focus? only needs something to tug on the release lever on the latch assembly
"No the temperature gauge doesn't work........
we've driven 150 miles today........
the heater went cold last Thursday........
they check the level when it's serviced don't they?"

facelift omegas are the same, they have no bootlock, but in addition to a boot button on the dash they have a three switch keyfob and clicking one of the buttons on that will pop the trunk open. perhaps you could grab the parts out of one of those?

just buy that and run the wire its simple you dont need a relay as its not high voltage.

Re: removing the boot lock
reftro fitted a Cav Mk2 boot release solenoid to my Mk 2 Cav...
blimey it had some kick... the most powerful solenoid I have ever seen.
I could hear it "THUD!!!" every time I pressed the release button.
