Help identifying a lock part please.

Post by Cavalier342 »

Bare with me....
As per title, I need to find out part I need to send to Gray16v, he asked me for a door lock rod lever, I sent him the metal rod itself, as in the photo below (right) :

Now, the hooked (top) end of the rod attaches to the door lock white lever part I believe, but he said he needs the bit that the other end of the rod attaches to... Unless I'm being really thick, can anyone tell me or show me what that bit is? I can't remember what it attaches to, without taking door cards off...

Many thanks.

Theres a bit on a threaded bar that pushes down into the door catch to release it.

Ok, I'll have another rummage through the spares, and see if anything matches the description.

If anybody happens to be taking door cards off, or breaking a Cavalier, could you please take a photo of the part in question regarding this thread, and pop it on here so that we know what to look for?

Thanks.

Hey Andrei, any good to you? I must admit, I thought you'd asked for a picture of a door without a door card, so apologies if this isn't much use!

Cheers Dan, I think it's hidden under the door lock pin, somewhere in there.... Thanks though, I'm still trying to figure out which part it is. I may just take the door card off my auto as it's off the road....

I suspect the part in question is the yellow bit that is hidden behind the window channel?

Well that's the driver's side door in the photo, it may be the same on the other side, but it's whatever the thin metal rod with a hook goes on to. :scratch Kind of hard to explain, but we're getting there :thumb

Thanks.

Maybe Gray16v can provide a pic of the bit he needs, might be easier than all the guesswork!

Top picture is the bit I was referring to, it is what attaches the link from the lock barrel to the lock assembly.
