Filling holes???
Filling holes???
Well I'm in the process of Preface lifting my 94 TD.
I've almost finished converting a Cesaro face lift spolier into an old Badgeless style (Chopped out a hole, fibre glass, filler, smooth, prime, colour) Just need to flattern and laquar.
I've fitted the early rear lights and the grey bar above number plate. But this has left me with 2 holes.
How should I takle filling them over?
For now I've just put duct tape over to stop the rain.

Re: Filling holes???
A few options.
The best and proper way would be to gring back to metal and fill the holes with weld, grind weld back as smooth as you can and put a very very light skim of filler over them if it needs it.
Or you could tap the holes in to create a "dent", then put something over the back of the holes like aluminium foil tape, masking tape, duck tape etc etc.. Then fill the dents/holes with filler until smooth.
Or get 2 grommits the right size and put them in.

Re: Filling holes???
Well the one on my auto, when I removed the tailgate Vauxhall badge, I just taped the holes from the inside and partially filled them in with touch up paint, although it's not a proper finish, I was going to fill, smooth, and re-spray it, just not got round to it. Can't tell from a distance as it's a dark colour but that's what my plan was.
