Upholstery cloth

Post by Dampfmann »

I am looking to reupholster the driver's and front passenger seats on my 1993 Cavalier.
According tothe Vin plate the Cloth Code is W6E which translates to Epsom - Anthracite (231).
It is black with multi coloured flecks.
I have approached a couple of local car trimmers but the response has been a negative - 'You'll
never find that' - or similar. A search of the internet comes up with Epsom racecourse!
Has anyone any suggestions as to where I might find this material?
I am looking for new rather than pulling out of a scrapper.
Thanks in anticipation

You'd be very lucky to find any new original material. Best bet is to find some in a scrapper and clean it up or look at getting interior retrimmed with something similar.

I'm restoring a Vauxhall Firenza and I sourced a perfect rear seat which the trimmer used to repair my front seats. I never checked the cavalier to see if there was enough material in the rears. A good trimmer could also repair a drivers seat from a good passenger seat.
