I have replacement rear chassis legs to put in to the cav sri. Where the old leg goes up at the back and along the boot is there a join?floor.

Is there a join in the old chassis at the rear or do you have to just cut it at the correct place?

Looks like there may be a join but can not tell.

Thanks for the help only a few more months welding to go

No you will need to make a jig.

As Troy has inferred.

The front of the legs contain the mountings for the rear axle beam.

So these need to be fitted absolutely spot on to provide correct toe and camber angles.

Fitted wrong, and the car will "crab".

And that's the best case scenario..

I have made the jig to get them back in the right place.
I just wondered where the new one joins at the back does it slide up the chassis under the boot or just join as a
but joint?
Anyone got any photos of this?

Any help welcome I want to make the job as easy as it can be.

I did not do mine - The world famous Troy did them for me.
When I saw his handy-work, he simply cut the chassis leg out so that he would have a butt welded joint.
In fact he left quite a gap between the end of the chassis rail and the original metal on the car, and then let-in the necessary metal to fill the gap between the old and new panels.

I did put up a few pictures in my W.I.P. but I don't know how helpful that will be.

Cheers I wasn't sure if they overlapped somehow! Just finished building bottom of inner sill and the jacking point strengthening section. I will post pics when they are in.
