Parcel Shelf Straps

Please could someono help me,is there an alternative to the rubber parcel shelf straps.Could i use them from another Vauxhall that are made of rope bc to the rubber ones keep on breaking.

As far as I know, these parts were for the Cavalier only.

Thanks for the part number but Im after alternative ones to rubber,possibly string ones.

I think you will need to fabricate your own from some black braided cord.

or even some black boot laces.

Sew one end to create the loop.

Then fit an electrical connector block on the other end, big enough not to pull out through the parcel shelf holes.

Put heat shrink tube around the block to tidy up it's appearance.

Genuine rubber straps on that part number are currently £6.24 each.
Quite a bit cheaper than the last time I looked at buying a pair.

I bought new Vectra A (you maybe aware that the Vectra A is the Mk3 Cavalier) parcel shelf straps for £5.19 delivered.These straps don't even sag ,they are taut.

Should new straps be taut?

In short, yes.
Fitted my brand- new ones about 2 years ago, just been out to check and there's a few millimetres deflection but they still haven't stretched enough to be anywhere near a 'sag'
